We believe privacy is a right, not a feature. This policy explains what data Sharpdine collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it — in plain language.

Nigeria-based service. Sharpdine is operated in Nigeria and this policy is written in compliance with the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. By using Sharpdine, you agree to the terms described here.

Overview

Sharpdine ("we", "our", "us") operates the Sharpdine Business app, Sharpdine Guest app, and this website at sharpdine.com. When you use our services, you trust us with information about your business and your customers. We take that seriously.

This policy applies to all users of Sharpdine — restaurant owners, staff, and diners. We only collect what we need, we never sell your data, and we give you full control over what you share.

Data We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account details — name, email address, phone number, restaurant name
  • Menu data — dish names, prices, categories, images you upload
  • Order details — items ordered, table number, special requests
  • Payment records — transaction amounts and timestamps (we do not store card details)
  • Messages sent through our contact form

Information collected automatically:

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • IP address and approximate location (country/city level only)
  • Usage patterns — features used, screens visited, session duration
  • Crash reports and error logs to help us fix issues

How We Use It

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Sharpdine platform
  • Power Sharp AI insights — analyzing your restaurant's order patterns to surface recommendations (all processing is tied to your account only)
  • Send you account-related emails — confirmations, receipts, support replies
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations under Nigerian law

We do not use your data to train third-party AI models, serve ads, or sell insights to other businesses.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share it in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — We use Supabase for database hosting and infrastructure. They process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • AI processing — Sharp AI queries are processed via Groq's API. Prompts include your anonymized restaurant data only. No personally identifiable information is sent.
  • Legal requirements — If required by Nigerian law, court order, or government authority, we may disclose information we are legally obligated to share.
  • Business transfers — In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to the new entity, who will be bound by this policy.

Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase, with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). We apply role-based access controls so only authorized personnel can access production data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

No system is 100% secure. If a breach occurs that affects your data, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by the NDPA 2023.

Under the NDPR and NDPA 2023, you have the following rights over your personal data:

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction
Ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion
Request deletion of your data, subject to legal obligations.
Portability
Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Objection
Object to how we process your data in certain circumstances.
Withdraw Consent
Withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based.

Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies — only those necessary for the site to function (session management, security tokens). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some features may not work correctly without them.

Children's Privacy

Sharpdine is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Policy Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of the sidebar and notify active users by email for material changes.

Continued use of Sharpdine after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
